We are now five months out from our hosted trip to Argentina! This adventure includes six days of fishing in the pursuit of Golden Dorado. These fish are native to parts of South America and inhabit the Upper Parana Watershed where we will target them! If you enjoy streamer fishing and want to finally explore this destination fishery- now is your chance.
Trip Information Below
Our trip dates are November 2-9, 2024. SET Fly Fishing organizes all of the outfitting, lodging, and accommodations to make it very easy for you. You will arrive in Buenos Aires the day before the trip starts (November 1). In the morning hours of November 2, you will catch a domestic charter flight out to the first lodge and fishing location. Three days of fishing will take place here with meals, lodging, and accommodations included. The following day, you will catch a short charter to the next lodge where you will fish for an additional three days. At the end, you’ll arrive back in Buenos Aires where you head home on November 9th. SET can help coordinate all logistics and make booking stress free.
An 8wt rod is used for all of the fishing on this trip. Many Reno locals have an 8wt rod they use at Pyramid Lake- all you have to do is switch out your fly line. SET Fly Fishing can provide gear for anglers at no extra cost. This includes rod, reel, line, leader, flies, etc. Their guides are equipped with the best equipment and flies to help you have a successful adventure. Golden Dorado in the Parana River and wetland systems eat near or on the water surface. This makes strikes thrilling! Large streamers just below the surface or topwater flies (poppers and rats) elicit violent eats.

Rates
The cost for the trip is $8,350. To secure your spot, a 50% deposit ($4,175) is required. SET Fly Fishing handles all payment and transactions. When you are ready to book, stop by or call the Reno Fly Shop and we will facilitate booking with SET Fly Fishing. The final 50% ($4,175) is required 90 days prior to the trip date. International airfare to and from Buenos Aires, Argentina is not included in the trip cost.
Schedule
November 2: Charter flight from Buenos Aires to the first lodge (lodges will be chosen based upon weather and water conditions)
November 3-5: Three (3) full day fishing
November 6: Early morning charter flight to the second lodge (30 minutes). Full day fishing
November 7-8: Two (2) full day fishing
November 9: Charter flight from the Lodge directly to Buenos Aires
