On-the-Water Report | Truckee River | mid/late August 2019

Summer seems to be making up for a rather mild start the last couple of weeks. We have made up for a cool start by consistently reaching mid to high 90s. The Truckee River is still fishing well. It seems to be best to focus efforts early in the day and around tributary confluences. The cool water entering the main river seems to concentrating fish. Can you blame them?

We are already getting excited about the upcoming Fall. Cooler temps in our rivers and streams make for some of the best fishing of the year. Not to mention we are a little over 5 weeks away from the Pyramid Lake opener. We have some great things planned for the upcoming Pyramid Lake season that we are going to announce shortly. Please stay tuned.

In the meantime. Please enjoy Mike’s most recent OTW from the Truckee River.

We hope to help you get out on the water soon. Swing by the shop or check out our flies in our online store.
