Come join us, March 21, for a Happy Hour with our special guest, Tim Loux. Tim is the Senior Fishery Biologist and Region 8 National Fish Passage Program Coordinator at the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery Complex near Nixon Nevada. Tim will be presenting on details of the Pilot Peak Lahontan Cutthroat Trout and their story in Pyramid Lake.
You might have become familiar with Tim during Episode 31 of the Reno Fly Shop Podcast.
Tim will discuss and then have an informal Q&A on some of these topics:
- History on the Pilot Peak LCT strain
- USFWS Hatchery program
- Life expectancy
- Time to sexual maturity
- Behavior (eating, schooling, spawning, etc.)
- Anticipated size
- Information on anticipated and/or likelihood natural spawning (river spawning)
As always this is a FREE event that we will be able to find out more about this amazing fish that exists in our “backyard”.
