The Pulsating Emerger is a fantastic soft hackle fly that can represent emerging midges or mayflies. This fly is particularly effective in imitating Tricos in late summer on the Truckee River. While soft hackles are typically swung on a down and across presentation, the Pulsating Emerger works well when dead drifted and fished as a nymph.
