Truckee River Selection - October 2025

Fourteen flies (seven patterns) that Reno Fly Shop staff and guides are currently using on the Truckee River.

We asked staff to pick their favorite dozen, but they couldn't stop at 12. So here are the 7 patterns the staff are currently using.

We update this selection based upon flow conditions, seasonality, and what we are having success with on the Truckee River in both Nevada and California.

You can think of these as the flies du jour for the Truckee River.
