This 6 hour clinic (over two sessions) will cover:

A valid Nevada fishing license is required for the on-the-water portion of the clinic.
Class size is limited to four anglers to maximize individual instruction and overall learning.
When:
Friday, July 31, 2026, 6:00–8:00 PM — Happy Hour Social & Classroom Session. Charlie will present the background of spey fishing and explain how traditional steelhead and salmon techniques have been adapted for trout in rivers and streams. Discussion will cover rods, lines, flies, and seasonal approaches specific to the Truckee River. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Saturday, August 1, 2026, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM — On-the-Water Clinic on the Truckee River (Nevada). Building on the previous evening's session, Charlie will provide hands-on casting instruction and guided practice swinging flies, including the Snap-T and Double Spey. We'll also cover reading the water to locate the best swing water, and strategies for effectively presenting a swung fly to trout. Each angler receives one-on-one coaching to refine casting mechanics, line control, mending, and fly presentation.
Where:
Orientation and classroom session in the shop on July 31st. Spey casting and fishing technique clinic on August 1st on the Truckee River, Nevada. Charlie will confirm the specific river access point the day before the clinic to ensure the best location based on current conditions.
