On The Water Report from RFS Guide Aden Breckner. Look for water temperatures to drop over the next few days and fishing to improve. There is not much bug life on the water right now. However, we are finding fish using crayfish patterns and mayfly imitations early in the day on the CA and NV sides.
Late summer carp fishing has been very good. We have been fishing urban water in the Truckee Meadows and the Battle Born Pond in Spanish Springs. If you are new or curious about carp on the fly, swing by the shop and we can point you in the right direction!
Truckee River flies we suggest: Cray Z Emma, Mini Crayfish, Dead Drift Crayfish, Spanish Bullet, Duracell, Quill Jig, Pearl & Orange, Blow Torch, Hot Spot PT
Carp Flies we suggest: Dead Drift Crayfish, Thin Mint Bugger, Mini Jig Leech Olive, BH Prince Nymph, Living Damsel, Red Eye Damsel

Fall is close and it is time to dust off those skills. Sign up for a 3 hr Intro Lesson for you and a friend to get ready for one of the best seasons on the Truckee River.
