The Lahontan Cutthroat Trout (LCT) historically reached 40 plus pounds. Today, trophy fish are 10 to 25 pounds. This incredible size and accessibility has garnered Pyramid Lake as a true bucket list fishery. Pyramid lake’s size, seasonal variability and moving terrain makes it difficult to locate these leviathans. At nearly 190 square miles and 340 feet of depth the LCT have a lot of area to spread out.
On October 26th, Reno Fly Shop guide Mike Anderson will be hosting a clinic at the lake to teach anglers some of the tricks that crack-the-code to effectively fly fish Pyramid Lake.
This one day clinic will cover:
- Pyramid lake overview/history
- Locating the LCT in the different times of the season
- Gear, Rigging, Fly Selection
- 3 Most Common Techniques for fishing Pyramid Lake/Casting
After the Clinic students are encouraged to stick around and fish! Mike plans on hanging out and will be available for questions and one on one instruction to further your fishing experience and develop the skills you will have just learned in the clinic!
The clinic will run 4 hours at a cost of $200 per angler. Gear is available if needed (free of charge) on a first come first served basis. Please let us know if you plan to use our gear at the time of reservation.
Class is limited to 6 anglers to maximize the learning/fun environment.
