Cortland makes a line of competition fly rods including some high-end nymphing rods. The Competition Nymph is a more value-based series and is a great rod option for anglers new to the Euro Nymphing scene. An efficient rod build and intelligent componentry make the Competition Nymph sensitive and high performing. Cortland has added a matte finish and vibration dampening technology to the Competition Nymph to create a rod that’s both high performing and incredibly affordable. If you’ve been thinking about entering into the Euro Nymphing game, this is your chance.
High-Modulus Ultra-Sensitive Blank – The blank of the Competition Nymph is built with high-modulus graphite and a euro-specific taper to be ultra-sensitive and highly efficient. Rods are weighted toward the butt to properly balance the rod for euro-style fishing. The blanks have a matte black finish with vibration dampening technology that also contributes to the rod’s ultimate sensitivity and high efficiency in the Euro market.
Oversized Stripping Guides – Oversized guides are great for nymphing and allow the angler to fight fish and present line accurately and efficiently. These oversized guides ease leader knot transfers during short-range casting. These guides stand up to weather and wear and are extremely durable.
Hard Chrome Single Foot Snake Guides – Single foot snake guides are lightweight and highly functional. Many rod manufacturers use snake guides for their low-friction design and durable build.
Anodized Aluminum w/Double Uplocking Component – An anodized aluminum reel seat and double uplocking component keep the butt section of the Competition Nymph functional and durable. Anodized aluminum componentry locks down any fly reel for unparalleled design and functionality.
Cordura Rod Tube – The Competition Nymph comes in a durable Cordura rod tube with a rod sock for increased protection. Cordura keeps the Competition Nymph safe during transportation, travel, and time off of the water.
Limited Lifetime Warranty – As of 8/2019, Cortland rods come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturer defects. The Cortland warranty is limited to the original owner and rods must be registered within 30 days of purchase. Cortland will also repair or replace your rod. Cortland charges a $50 fee for any damage that is not directly related to manufacturing defect for handling and shipping.
