NEW Truckee River Dozen for September 2021

No surprise that the flow in the Truckee River has gotten low in late summer. So we are focussing our attention on getting out early in the day and within reaches that have more flows and as much shading as possible. The fish have most likely moved into these areas.

We have once again curated what we feel is a great fly selection for this time of year and these flow conditions. You will find some imitative patterns as well as a few suggestive patterns. And, of course, what late summer fly box doesn’t have a carp fly or two???

We hope you are finding the time and conditions to get out on the water. Fall is around the corner and with it will be cooler temps and the start of the Pyrammid Lake season. Stay tuned for more information on those topics soon.
