This week we had the chance to sit down with Tom Duffy the president of Streamworks. Streamworks has a great display in the shop with all of their products available. Fly tying tools, fly boxes and stream side accessories are well worth checking out.
Tom tells us what is happening in and around the Streamworks company since their move here from Northern California and why he chose the Reno Fly Shop to be their anchor store. What products they are bringing out in 2016, what trends of fly fishing they are investing in and what products he thinks are their best.
Tom will be at the Caffeinated Casting Competition this Saturday (8/15) to show you a lot of their products that we sell in the shop. He will also be giving away three of the The Mitten Scissor Forceps with Hook Release.
The Little Truckee River began to ramp flows down today to prepare for the Little Truckee River Habitat Improvement Project. This was the topic of Episode 1. The flows will be about 15 cfs until the beginning of September.
Hope to see you all at the Caffeinated Casting Clinic/Demo/Competition on Saturday at Hub Coffee Roasters on 727 Riverside Drive. We will get started at 9 with a casting clinic taught by Jamie Lyle (Sage, Rio and Redington Rep) followed by an equipment demo to let you work out the casting kinks and to choose your whip for the casting competition that will start at 11.
All of these events are free. We will have prizes, a raffle and free coffee provided by the Hub Coffee Roasters. Bring your family and friends.
